Looking up at the underside of the Tsuzumi Gate (Tsuzumi-mon) and the Motenashi Dome in front of Kanazawa Station, Japan.

The Tsuzumi-mon is a large wooden gate resembling a torii (a gate in front of Japanese shrines), but designed in the style of a traditional drum used in Noh plays (a "tsuzumi"). It is 13.7 meters tall. The Motenashi Dome is a large steel and glass structure which shelters the plaza in front of the railway station. The design is by architect Ryuzo Shirae, and construction was completed in 2005.
