TSP Open for Asia Summit[link5]

The Travel Support Program (TSP), which is aided through donations to the Geeko Foundation, is now accepting applications for the openSUSE.Asia Summit 2026.

Funds are allocated by the foundation specifically for travel assistance for speakers attending the event.

Applications for the TSP are open now and will run until July 31, which will follow an announcement related the Call for Papers.

People whose talks are accepted can submit a request at tsp.opensuse.org.

The TSP exists to ensure financial constraints don’t prevent passionate contributors and community members from participating.

The openSUSE.Asia Summit 2026 organizers of the summit encourage you to apply early.

Matsuyama. Dogo Onsen.

Quando cala il buio, le luci si accendono e il bagno pubblico più famoso della città cambia aspetto.

Legno, vetrate colorate, tetti sovrapposti e lampade calde.
Da ogni angolo emerge un dettaglio diverso. Più lo si osserva, più si capisce perché molti lo associano all'atmosfera di Spirited Away.

Dogo Onsen sostiene di essere il più antico bagno termale del Giappone. Che sia davvero il più antico o no, davanti a una struttura come questa la questione passa in secondo piano.

La gente entra, esce, si ferma a fotografarlo o semplicemente lo osserva per qualche minuto.

Io ho fatto lo stesso.

Prima l'ho guardato da fuori.
Poi sono entrato.

松山。道後温泉。

日が暮れると、建物に灯りがともる。

木造の外観。
色鮮やかな窓。
重なり合う屋根。
暖かい光。

『千と千尋の神隠し』を思い出す人が多いのもよく分かる。

道後温泉は日本最古の温泉と言われている。
本当かどうかはともかく、この建物を前にするとそんなことはあまり気にならなくなる。

人々は立ち止まり、眺め、写真を撮る。

私も同じだった。

まず外から眺めた。
そして中へ入った。

As darkness falls, the lights come on and the city's most famous bathhouse changes character.

Wood, stained glass, layered roofs, and warm lantern light.
The longer you look at it, the easier it becomes to understand why many people connect it with the atmosphere of Spirited Away.

Dogo Onsen claims to be the oldest hot spring bathhouse in Japan. Whether that is entirely true or not almost becomes irrelevant when standing in front of a building like this.

People arrive, leave, take photos, or simply stop and admire it.

I did the same.

First I looked at it from outside.
Then I went in.
