You must remove the square bracket and the space. The square brackets mark only optional parameters in the documentation and must be removed when the parameter is used.

so it should be:
##""{{imageslider page="Wotypedia/imagewheel"}}""##
The page tag above is relative to the page, if you want use a absolute page tag use ##page="/Wotypedia/imagewheel"##.
