As far as memory throws me (which is getting shorter and shorter as time goes on), this was my first genuine bout with blossoms in mass quantities on this journey. What sucks is that here at Tenmangu Shrine there isn't one specific angle or straight-away you can shoot this at, the grounds are in a very unique shape so I had to circle in multiple spots and look for better compositions cause it wasa bit more of a puzzle then normal to find a good one.
This setting makes it look like I'm writing a haiku or something. I had a very different for this one. Normally I try to make these photos look vibrant and happy looking and for this I opted for a more pale look. Reason being that street lamp that turned on a bit earlier then I was anticipating (it was still around midday). So I drained the vibrancy and highlights on all spots except the mentioned street lamp. And last minute I was convinced to give a bit of pink and clarity back to the closer or bigger blossoms. Again, this is not sakura, these are plum blossoms.
Tenmangu was a turning point, there was a reason why when I arrived it was specifically meant to cover nearly the entirety of a month, I knew sometimes I would be too early, sometimes I could even be too late, but eventually I would hit the spring blossoms. And this location highlighted the fortune beginning to become favorable.
