TSP Open for Asia Summit
The Travel Support Program (TSP), which is aided through donations to the Geeko Foundation, is now accepting applications for the openSUSE.Asia Summit 2026.
Funds are allocated by the foundation specifically for travel assistance for speakers attending the event.
Applications for the TSP are open now and will run until July 31, which will follow an announcement related the Call for Papers.
People whose talks are accepted can submit a request at tsp.opensuse.org.
The TSP exists to ensure financial constraints don’t prevent passionate contributors and community members from participating.
The openSUSE.Asia Summit 2026 organizers of the summit encourage you to apply early.
For questions about the TSP process, visit the wiki for more information and read the Geeko Foundation’s travel policy.
Further details will be shared later about the event planning, so please pay attention to announcements for the summit.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Daikoku

Daikokuten (大黒天) is one of Japan's Seven Lucky Gods (Shichi-fuku-jin), revered as the deity of wealth, fortune, abundance, and agriculture.
He is a highly syncretic figure combining the fierce Hindu destroyer god Mahākāla with the benevolent native Shinto hero Ōkuninushi.
Key Iconography & Symbolism
You can easily identify Daikoku in traditional art and okimono (sculptures) by his distinct items and features.
The Mallet: He carries a magic wish-granting mallet (uchide no kozuchi) used to hammer out wealth and good fortune.
The Treasure Sack: Slung over his shoulder is a bag filled with precious, unseen blessings.
Rice & Rats: He stands or sits on two bales of rice, symbolizing agricultural abundance. Rats or mice are often shown nibbling the rice, signifying prosperity and full storehouses.
Physicality: He is depicted as a stout, smiling, short-legged figure wearing a flat black beret or flat cap.
