Cannot get SMTP mail to work

I want to use SMTP mail on a Linux Ubuntu machine. Can someone please help me with getting this set up?

Also, it is not clear to me how to get changes to the config.php file to propigate to the MySQL wacko_config table.

Also, do I make changes to the config.php or the config_defaults.php file?

Email Settings

Hi Ray,

you must change the settings in the secondary config (config table) or you can use the admin panel.
The config_defaults file holds only the default values.

Hi, Thank you very much for your above answers. I was able to set up the admin panel on both of my Wiki installs. Was able to get one to send an e-mail but need to figure out the other now.

This admin panel is wonderful!
